Hi - first post so let's hope I don't embarrass myself !!

Have just bought a beauty after searching for ages and got it at a good price with leather, full history, 2 owners and in great condition. I am over the moon with it but my only small complaint is that the accelerator is a lot firmer / harder than my old E Class.

Is this something that can be adjusted easily (and cheaply) or does this point to any underlying problem ?

I look forward your replies and also ANY advice on making my ownership my enjoyable, good value and fun.

Thanks
Richard

Hi Richard and welcome to the forum. Lovely motor.
Yes the accelerator is quite stiff on that model though whether its too stiff you'd need to ask a garage or compare with another. In any case, its not going to be serious.

BTW there is a photos section for your pics - One of the moderators wil probably move them over for you.

Thanks for that jberks - I didn't think it was anything too serious but really needed someone to put my mind at rest !!
I shall be joining the club 'proper' shortly as I really want to get the most out of the car.
BTW, you and I have some shared car history ie E class, Escort, Transit and a Viva !! They say variety is the spice of life !!
Many Thanks
Richard

I drove a `91 E230 before I bought my 97 C180, both needed about the same amount of pressure to push the accelerator pedal down, which was a lot more pressure than I would have thought normal ( or am used to) As they were both the same, i assumed it was normal and now, two weeks into ownership, dont notice it anymore. Try and find another for sale locally and try that one, it should set your mind at rest.

I have a C220CDi. When I first got it the accelerator felt 'different' and 'firmer' than my previous car (non-MB). There is nothing wrong with it, its just different and after two or three weeks I became accustomed to its feel.
