Hi, when i approach a t junction or indeed any position where you have to come to a complete halt the car occassionally stalls. The revs just seem to drop below 5, the needle then either bounces back to 7 or the engine dies altogether. Also when i am starting the car i occassionally need to press the accelerator gently to get the car to idle. Any advice would be gratefully appreciated.

has it been serviced at all recently (sparkplugs etc) ?

in addition this could be MAF related, do a search on the forums and you'll get plenty of hits,

cheers

Hello,

I would suggest that you check the throttle body for any signs of oil build up around throttle butterfly this can be quite a common cause for the probelms you have described. The reason it can cause it to cut out or not idle is due to the butterfly can not find its true rest position!!

Have a look it won't take to long to check and you can just clean it out with a rag and some brake cleaner!!!

Good luck
