C202 240 Owners manual and question

Hi Guys

First post so be gentle

I have just purchased a 1999 C Class 240 Elegance saloon
Unfortunately there is no owners manual with it

Can anyone advise where i may be able to pick one up from

Also quick question there is an alarm button in the centre of the dash
Top of button shows car lifted and bottom of button shows alarm coverage inside of car it a rocker switch

can anyone advise as to its purpose and what pressing the switch does

It's the button that de-activates the tow away alarm feature, and also the interior sensing feature, for when you want to leave a window slightly open, or travel on a ferry, for example. I'll dig out the proper wording for you!!

Hi,
Welcome to the forum.
There are 4 separate handbooks for the chassis covering the Exterior, Interior, Driving, Technical, as well as one for the stereo, all fitted in a small folder/wallet.
You can normally find them on e-bay complete.
You need to be careful as there were 2 generations of C class (chassis W202) known as pre-facelift and face lift and as yours is newer than 1997 (change over year) you,ll need to identify the correct item.
Alternatively you could try a breakers yard who should supply on for approx £10-20.
The button on the dash disables the interior movement sensors of the alarm (to stop false alarms if leaving your dog in the car), and the other the anti-jack up sensor of the alarm (to stop false alarms on ferries etc.)
