- 2011 E250 Coupe
Hi all
I seem to be running round in circles. Recently had new tyres on the front (new rears booked for next weekend) on my 2011 E250 coupe. About a week after the new fronts were fitted, my headlight alignment went haywire. They are now stuck at main beam height, whether or not I have main beam switched on.
To clarify, I can switch from main to dip, but when I measure the height against a wall (car is 25ft away), the cut off line is at 36 inches, rather than 18 inches (as my wifes car is at the same spot). All that happens when I switch to main is that the area is flooded with light when both sets of lamps light up.
I checked the range alignment sensors, and the arm on the rear sensor (connected to the nearside rear suspension unit and wishbone) had snapped. I've replaced this, but it's made no difference. I've even tried manually winding the height down via the bolts above the headlights as far down as they will go, but the difference is negligible.
Any pointes on the next step?
Thanks in advance.
