Hey All,
I've got a 2009 e350 cdi coupe which a very frustrating problem. It started out with the following
Driving on a very hot day, a check coolant message came up in red and the fan kicked in on high. Turning the engine on and off resulted in the fan just booting up at high speed again. During this time the engine temp sensor was also quickly fluctuating between 50-90. After a few days unplugged this message and fault kind of disappeared.
*Coolant level was fine when checked
Now the car is behaving in the following way.
The temp gauge is normal, no coolant warning lights, no fan kicking in while driving but once the engine is turned off and the canbus goes into sleep mode the fan will spool up to high. It then goes through a cycle of spooling up and off until the battery dies.
I've replaced the radiator fan with a second hand part as i thought it maybe the module inside the fan.
Has anyone got any ideas?
Cheers
