Hi,
I was looking for an answer but I couldn't find any. I want to listen to music from my iPhone in my C216 late 2008 . I have bluetooth module but it only transfers calls, I dont have slot for MMI cable in glovebox. I only have RCA slot there. Can I connect any bluetooth to RCA slot which would allow me to play music from iPhone? On the screen it shows there is AUX available. Any ideas? Will be grateful for any advice. Thanks

I just answered this question on another forum

the socket in the arm rest is ONLY for a telephone module in can't ever do music

there are 5 conventional status's the car can be in to allow music input in

2006 model year no external music input (however there was the MP3 option that allows playback from a pcmcia adaptor with a memory card that sits under the flap below heater controls)
iPod interface kit a strange box of tricks rare as hell, that can be added to early cars
iPod interface 2, exceptionally rare bug fixed iteration of above, goes louder and the rear camera night vision support comes back to life
2008 RCA Phono jacks in the glove box
2010 Media interface kit, it can't work on earlier models the whole entertainment unit (comand system) is a later iteration

If you have too much money you can bring the car in to the 21 century with a box of tricks to sort your phone BT music, BT calls and give you car play and android auto

the user manual will explain that

I'm guessing any sound source of a boring head phone output type voltage, will be interpreted as noise by the red and white RCA phono connections, (white for the left channel and red for the right.... I see you get the super nasty yellow naffest ever quality video signal input too - I wonder if this means the noise ONLY shows up when it on the AUX Video input (rather than the Radio menu AUX Sound input) ?

I've not looked, but these days really nasty electronics with magic features exist, and maybe (with remote power source) you can inflict some Bluetooth derived sound at it

Looks like there is some on Amazon, you would loose the calling ability though as you can’t connect to multiple Bluetooth receivers at once,

yes you can - most systems do this

I can in my W221 with a viseeo MB3 phone puk and a viseeo tune2air WMA1000 music streaming thing going in to the car via a 30pin Merc iPod interface... I can even stream radio channels off the iphone picking up stuff live from 6000 miles away (its a little wild fighting the phone, being odd to start it, but then just works). Its two separate BT connections happening at the same time.

I don’t find that’s the case with most Bluetooth devices, oftentimes one will take priority over the other and make for a poor experience.

lots of people often don't get a chance to see or forget to say YES I want this to keep working

this comment "its a little wild fighting the phone, being odd to start it, but then just works", is when trying to get the iPhone to stream radio. Music auto connects and just works 100% like you expect all from the car's controls

last 2 here are the 2 on my merc...
