Hi,

Am new to the forum i must say it's excellant.

However on looking under the bonnet of my car today i noiticed the coolant level was down. A week ago i had the thermostat changed because of cool running 60c now 80c. The coolant was changed too. I saw in the expansion tank a yellow muck that felt a little oily, then i checked the oil cap and dipstick both were clean thank god. HELP....is this head gasket failure? The car has 90K with FSH, does the cdi 220 get head failure....it does not over heat...or is it muck that has shifted now the temps are higher.....??????

Regards

Ed

You do not say if your car is a 202 or 203 your car does have a oil / water cooler and are prone to have oily water, there is a de oiling program for it.
