Have just purchased this car on Sat, test drove, then drove home about 100 mile, drove another 100 mile around once home over the weekend, plenty of stopping and starting over two days, car was brilliant no problems.

Then went out on Mon morning went to start, nothing! Can hear what sounds like the starter motor clicking, each time the key is turned, tried jump starting it, no joy.

Did have power as lights were working. After several attempts to start noticed the lights fading and eventually could not hear the starter motor clicking. Have charged the battery right up today for over 12 hours, once reconnected just the clicking again, no starting.

The only things I have done the day before it wouldn’t start was to alter some of the setting on the menu, lights timings etc, but couldn’t see how this would stop the car from starting.

I would greatly appreciate any advice as am at my wits end & would just love to drive the car I hardly driven.

the only way to check is with a volt meter. these cars need a full 12 volt, 11volt will not do, If the battery went down just by turning the car (non start) it sounds u/s
If you do go and buy a new one (if original 5 years is max) only buy a well known brand, not a house name, otherwise you will be back to square one.

I think I will have to check it by the sound of it.

I pressume it is the original so like you say it maybe needs changing, can you recommend any well known brands ?

Thanks for the helpful advice Malcolm.

The Bosch ones are some of the best.
The model you need is a 12V/100Ah
Bosch part number: 600 044 076 Model 1A
Costco is the cheapest outlet: About £52 including VAT and 4 year warranty

Do you think it could be the starter motor is jammed? Try putting it gear and rocking it back and for to free it. Worth a try

I am plesed to announce that the car is a runner once more !

Bought the Bosch battery which was recommended here, had to pay slightly more as haven't got a Costco card, but its the best £82 I have ever spent, the car started first time, just to like to say another thanks to for all the advice, the smile is back on my face :D

Keep up the good work
