Hi All

I'm a new MB owner and new to turbo diesel. I am trying to find out if it is required or recommended that you let you Turbo Diesel cool down after a trip. I called my local dealership (Down here in South Africa) and they were very non committal and basically said it was not really necessary  . If any of you have any recommendations or technical knowledge on this please let me know

Greetings from Africa
Steve

Your Mercedes
A diesel
As long as you allow the engine to idle for a few seconds there shouldn't be any problems. Usually pulling into your drive or garage is more than enough time.

Diesel turbos don't get as hot as petrol turbos and oil quality is now good enough to stop baking of the oil.

It goes without saying, dont rev the engine high then switch straight off as this will leave the turbo spinning with no fresh lubrication.
