Hi, I'm taking delivery of a c220 CDI at the beginning of march. I have a company fuel card i'm handing back but before i do this i want to buy some oil for the car on the fuel card to save on servicing costs in the future.
One of my friends saves about £70 a service by supplying his oil to them he says ...

What exact make and type of oil do i need to buy ??

Many Thanks

Mike

Let's hope the owner of the company you work for is not on the forum.

ask at the place where you get it serviced what kind of oil they put in. then go buy that. or check your handbook and buy something that matches or exceeds the spec. Leave it with the vehicle when you have it serviced and make sure you tell them its for them to use. you also need to supply enough or they will charge an very amusing fee for the litre they top it up with.

might be a good idea to top up your windscreen washer fluid before you go as well. Altho the MB dealer who serviced my SLK didnt charge for it I have been to a dealer of a different make with their attempt at a car (before the merc was within paying for range) and they charged me £2.90 for a small bottle of washer fluid that they used. The next time I went i topped up the fluid bottle first. They left me the full bottle in the car and charged me for it. We had a very good and very onesided conversation when I came to pay. Altho they insisted it was part of the service I didnt think it was to be charged extra considering it wasnt used. After lots of huffing and puffing by the retarded gentleman behind they counter they agreed to remove it from the bill and take back the bottle. A few weeks later my luck really ran out when I bought a new house and he happened to be my new nieghbour.

He did complain to the boss of the house, that apparenlty i wasnt a very nice person to him. Not sure I understood what he meant so i popped round to have him explain it further. They moved fairly soon after, and his marriage split up too. Mind you so did mine....... you work it out.
