C220 CDI Questions

I have just bought a 2000 C220 CDI Auto Estate with 82k on the clock.

I am very pleased with the car but have the following questions that I would appreciate your opinions on:

1. What are the best tyres to fit to the car? I am after good grip and reasonable tyre-life.

2. Is this car servicable by any good garage or does it need specialist MB servicing?

I plan to keep it for a long time and I am not worried that it will not have a full MB service history.

3. Annoyingly, the glovebox courtesy light and alarm indicators on the door handles do not work. I have checked the fuses and they all seem ok. Any ideas gratefully received.

Mine didn't have alarm indicators on the door handles.....? It did have an infra red sensor for the window closure fundtion?

Would stick to at least specialist servicing, there are plenty of good ones around, where do you live? You will find it cheper and better in the long run than using any other 'good' garages.
