C220 CDi Warm Start Problems

Has anyone else experienced a problem starting a warm CDi Engine? My 2002 Elegance Estate starts fine when cold but I've found recently that if left for anything between 5 mins and a couple of hours after being driven, I need to turn it over for a long time before it will start. Anyone know what might be the problem?

This problem is getting worse and I end up not being able to start the car at all when its warm after 10 mins. I don't think the starter motor enjoys it much!. Has anyone any experienced this "warm" starting problem before?

Search the forums and you'll probably find an answer as I have read of others having this problem with diesels but don't recall the fix.

can you see air bubbles in the fuel lines?

Sounds like air in the fuel lines to me. I had a similar problem and had 5 of 'em changed. The parts are pretty cheap at under £20 for the lot.

Aparently the plastic gets brittle and lets the air in after a few years.

Injector run back pipes will have perished, they let air in = no start. Replace = all ok
