Hello, can anyone help? I have a c220 cdi which is 4 years old.. Recently my intermittent window wipe has began to stop almost half way accross my windscreen. If i start the intermittent procedure on my window wipe system, the start and stop position of the wiper arm is not in the correct place, however, it does return to the base of the windscreen during the sweeping action but the park position seems to be out of place. The other speeds work ok and go through the full sweeping sequence.....

What shopuld i do? I have been told that I should chenge the intermittent timer relay???? Or maybe change the Wiper motor??? Or I have been told the S.A.M could be the problem, however, I have no other faults on any electrics...PLEASE HELP

I had a similar problem on a C200 where the wiper arm would fully sweep the screen normally when turned on but parked in a position about six inches up from where it should be when switched off.

It turned out to be the nut on the end of the wiper motor gearbox drive shaft had loosened causing the tapered fitting from the rod linkage to shift from its correct position. (The motor was parking in its normal 'park' position but it was the wiper arm linkage that had 'moved' in relation to the position of the motor when parked)

It was necessary to remove the complete wiper and motor mechanism as one unit, about 15 minutes, to access the motor and linkage to re-align the linkage to the motor (in park position) and re-tighten the nut on the end of the motor drive shaft.

Hope this helps
