Help
My M reg C220 petrol cuts out now and then normally when just picking up power or slowing down,or when ticking over now and then.
I have taken it to a MB dealer and spent a lot of money getting them to check it out changeing the obvious electrical parts to no avail they also said that they could find anything on the computer.
I have also taken to a small independant garage who thought it might be a sensor but were not sure.
Could it be somthiong to do with the petrol pump? because after it cuts out it restarts after a couple of minutes with no trouble and generally runs like a dream but i am a bit worried about useing it as it is getting worse as the weeks have gone by.
In the mean time I have to use my wife's Nissan!
Any ideas

c220 cuts out!!!!

I own a c180 and having simular problems, keeps cutting out on me as and when it feels like it. I've had it in the local auto-electricians twice. when you turn the key to its first position the aerial goes up then once its finished click to the next position and listen closely, you should hear another motor sound for a couple of seconds, thats your fuel pump. If you hear that sound then your car should start. if not then try wiggling the plug on your ecu for the fuel injection, on mine its located underneath the screenwash tank. My car is currently booked in on this tuesday to have a new crankshaft sensor. I'll let you know if it cures the problem.

c180 202 cutting out and starting problems!!!!

Well i've had it in the garage and they said it was something to do with the fuel injection unit under the screenwash bottle, but after a bit of searching and checking various basics by my uncle, my engine oil was very low, so naturally topped it up and so far so good. No cutting out and starts everytime. still early days yet but as i say so far so good!!!!!!!

heya all im fairly new to all this but ive got a l reg w202 c220 and i seen this post about the flippin this cutting out mine does that too which is really annoying and imbarrasing has anyone found a cure for this problem yet as i am really loosing my temper with the car now i mean is the ecu that controls the ignition/injection in the top n/s corner of the engine bays cause i have 2 ecu,s there one has got a large long plug and the others have 2 shorter ones cause it seems like sometimes when the plugs on the 2 smaller ecu's are moved/wriggled it will start but sometimes not, i dont believe it is the fuel pump as i can hear it run on cranking the engine so in thinging that it has ti be injection or ignition i really hope some one could shed some light upon the subject as it really is annoying pls hlp out some one thanks si
