Would appreciate any assistance in sourcing OE Nox sensor pt A00090585114/80. Have had one on order with Mercedes dealer for the last two months with no promise of delivery date.
500 miles before the engine won't start message is on. Only 400 miles left!!

Many thanks
Bashir

Are you still driving your car?
Yes I am, the guy at the Indy told me it was OK to drive. He also told me that one of his customers had to wait nine months for one last year. I don’t know whether it makes any difference but mine is a Petrol

We have a few customers who have been waiting months now, not just for nox sensors either! Believe one has been waiting five months now!

Perhaps you can answer Bashir’s question, and indeed mine. Is it OK to drive with a Nox sensor down just to reassure us ?

You can for a certain amount of miles, we have cleared fault codes for our waiting customers so they keep using there cars until said parts turn up!

Thanks for your advice, can I get the fault code cleared when it gets down from 500 miles to around 50 so I can keep driving until the same happens again. But in the meantime hope the new sensor turns up.
Regards
Bashir

Hi car is down to 40 miles before the engine will not start. How do I clear the fault code please and how many times can I keep clearing the fault code without causing any damage. No sign of new sensor. Thanks

Not sure what the sensor does, if it's part of a close loop system, currently no feedback as sensor is down. System hopefully defaults to a safe setting? or will the PDF get blocked.

It detects Nox and sprays ad blue accordingly doesn't it ?

Mine is a petrol with a Nox sensor down, so how does that work ? :)

NOx emission can be reduced by primary methods such as retard injection, fuel nozzle modification, change of compression ratio, water direct injection, water emulsification, exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) and secondary method such as selective catalytic reduction (SCR)
