My 1996 p reg esprit is becoming a nightmare , when driving along the ECP light comes on and then it cuts out which isnt amusing at 70 mph, i have air in the fuel pipe which runs from fuel filter to diesel pump please help, I have replaced diesel filter billo_73@hotmail.com

Lots of threads here on dealing with these leaks, often just a matter of changing some O rings and replacing some pipe clamps,this also applies to the return to tank system.

If you have air bubbles it will should not be the pump. Most leaks accure after fitting a new air filter, over night they will find there way to the highest point so all of the pipes must be air tight, including those on the pump and return to tank.
I am not sure of your car,all of the components can be found here by using the first 6 VIN numbers. I am away from home tomorrow, but others can help you.
