I added Millers diesel additive to my W203 yesterday and drove 25 miles with no problems. From start up today and all day the engine diagnostic light remains on.
The car continues to run perfectly. Checked under the bonnet and everything seems fine.

Can this be attributed to the diesel additive?

Should I wait till this tank of fuel has been used?

Should I get the codes read?

Any help appreciated.

Believe I added the right amount then filled up. Anyone ever experienced any problems/issues after using diesel additive or is this simply a coincidence.

I should have mentioned that there are no malfunctions showing. I take it there will still be a code recorded?

Was there any reason why you used the additive?

Have you otherwise noticed a change in performance? Better/worse/no different?

I wish now I hadn't bothered and no there is no diference other than the warning light. I simply thought a good dose of additive would clean the fuel injection system.

C'mon guys what would you do if the engine management light was now on constantly?

I'd definitely get the codes read as soon as possible.

Local indy read the codes today and the culprit was the diesel particulate filter. Reckons the additive may have been the catalyst to this problem. MB themselves use an additive to cause the particulate filter to go through its regeneration process. I may have inadvertently caused the same thing. MB state clearly in the manual not to use additives and I shall obey this from now on.

The diagnostic light is now off but should this return the only solution may be to replace the DPF.:(

That makes sense, though we hardly ever see a problem with that
