Help requested with an ignition fault on my 2002, C220 SE. The problem is that the key will fit in the steering lock but from cold will not recognise or turn, this seems to be worse when outside condition are damp. After numerous attempts of locking/unlocking doors, pressing key fob etc. etc. I can usually get the key working. Local mercedes garage is quoting £400+ to fit a new lock. Is this a common fault?
