c220 instrument panel/

hi, i was told by a local garage that when the car needs servicing that a 'spanner' icon would appear where my mileage shows in the intstrument panel

i dont know if this is true or not, can anyone comment ?

the car is a c220 from 1995.

Hi,
On the newer C-Class (W202 and W203) there is a spanner (minor service) or 2 spanners (major service) that appear within 1000 miles (1600Km) of the due service.
This is in the digital display showing the car's mileage or Km's.
I don't know if it was already existant in the car shown in the pictures.

The spanners only appeared on later cars, don't know exactly when though.

a '95 C220 does not have any service indication.
It is a fixed 9k service interval.

ok thanks for the info

well on the car the last service from my guess would be at 165000 km

the clock is now past the 170000km mark, should i be servicing the car soon (all seems more or less fine but a little bit of chugginess when running at idle)
