C220 Sport - Cosmetic Chrome Wheel Arch Inserts - Standard or Aftermarket?s

Hi Everybody,

My search for a suitable C or E Class Estate continues and I have come across a rather smart 2006 C220 CDi Sport and I just wanted to know if the chrome wheel arch inserts are standard fitment on these models or is it part of some non standard conversion?

I have not seen these on any other C or E Class - but I wasn't really paying too much attention previously!

Many thanks for your comments - that would make perfect sense of course although the use of chrome strips would probably cost more than simply cutting away the corrosion and fabricating new arches?

I haven't seen the work 'in the flesh' so I can't comment further but as it is a 2006 model I would have thought that the panels should be better protected than the earlier models?

Unfortunately bodywork and painting are not my speciality - my background is electronics so I am more at home chasing the wonderful sensor related issues!

Don’t bank on it. I have 2008 & 2009 ML’s with rust starting around the wheel arches front and back.
