Hello everybody! I've got a C220cdi on an 02 plate. over the last 2 weeks Ive been getting an increasing problem of rough idle (hot and cold engine), I also think its very sluggish on pull away from stand still until about 2000rpm.

any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Again, welcome, not a common fault with he 220 Malc, would think a injector on its way out or a blocked CAT!!

Thanks guys, so far ive heard injectors, cat, maf sensor and cleaning the egr valve. naturley im going the cheapest route first. Do you know if any of these faults would show as malfunction on the dash? as i dont have any showing.

If it is the MAF, don't buy a Bosch. CDI models are factory fitted with Pierburg MAFs that cost about £80 from MB, (about £60 from Eurocarparts). Don't buy one from Ebay.

When you buy the MAF, you buy the complete with the tube or the just the bit inside?

I compare the tube in my W202 and R170, they are incompatible.
