OK unplug the MAF and see then how the car runs, if the problem goes away but the engine runs a little rough it will be the MAF

This will not show on a Diagnosis check

Had the same problem on my wifes 2001 C220CDi. Spoke to my local dealer who thought it would be the MAF and suggested that I call Mercedes Breakdown as this would be quicker and cheaper to fix.

MB breakdown turned up within the hr, checked and found it was almost certainly the MAF. Replacement took less than 10 minutes and the technician tested the car before handing it back over. Cost was around £60 which given the lack of hassle strikes me as a real bargain.

I guess this is the value of Mobilo Life.

Good luck

Check the vacuum line to the turbo actuator. Just fixed a hole in mine and it goes like a rocket now.

Best of luck.
