Hello,

Anyone can advise if i can just change the springs to a standard for a more comfortable ride without feeling every little bump on the road?

My car is listed as having 677 Avantgarde/standard, which basically means sport i believe. The car sits low, from what i have gathered is 15mm below standard.

Cheers

Hello and welcome,

What size wheels and what tyres do you have fitted?

I think your suspension is standard apart from the lowering element. Only the AMG Line suspension is harder and harder still with the 18in wheels.
If you feel yours is too hard, it might be worth lowering your tyre pressures a little. If that doesn't help, 1try a set of 16in wheels off a SE. (Plenty on Ebay!)

Thanks Ernie, i did lower the pressure down to 32psi, seems to have helped a bit. Would a longer spring make any substantial difference?

Thanks

Do you require 98 XL load rating tyres? The higher the load rating the stiffer the sidewalls. I’d check the manual for the load rating.

17”’s should be good, my E’s were really good on them with the lower avantgarde suspension.

Sorry, Dana, much as I would like to help further, I am not able to as my experience is limited to the cars I have (had) and what I know about them.

Agree with Blobcat.
For reinforced tyres (XL) the limits are higher by 1dB (A). Tyres with a lower db rating for smoother ride.

I have the s203 sport edition, it has a stronger roll bar at the front. You can measure the bar thickness to know if this is the cause. polypropelene bushes are also said to be softer I have not tried these yet. Dont know why yous sits low possibly not standard parts on it? did you own it from new? Extra load tires, in my opinion, must be avoided as they have no grip if the car is not fully loaded.
