Hi There,

I've got a 98 C220D which was a bit ropey enginewise when I got it. It's got a full history and has done 140000+ miles. I know that I need to change the heater plugs and I've put some cleaning fluid through the diesel which has smoothed it out a lot. The gearbox is good and I cleared the memory on it, so it works properly now. The exhaust is a bit raucous on the move, but it's not an MB pipe.

Can anyone tell me what I should expect from a full tank of diesel. At the moment I am getting about 480 - 530 miles from a tank. This is about 39 - 43mpg. My usual trips consist of a 100 mile round trip to work on motorway and fastish A Class roads plus weekend taxi work for the kids. Say 350 miles at an average of 60 - 70 in cruise and about 150 miles around town.

Any comments?
