C230 1997 Radiator hose?

Hi,

looking under the car last night and found the hose shown in the picture rotting through. its not leaking yet but it obviously needs replacing.

Anyone any ideas what the hose is for, its name and are they difficult to replace.

This will be 41 in the picture, you can change it easy enough as it goes to the header tank.

The system will empty and either you catch the antifreeze, and sieve it and refill or you buy new antifreeze.

Your dealer will want to do his own search for the correct part number. You can tell him that it is the pipe from the bottom of the rad to the header tank.

many thanks, can you purchase the pipe from Europarts or BMS or is it advisable to go to a Merc dealer?

i changed mine on the w210 and it was dealer only. mine was 45 pounds i think
