hi all,
the right side rear view mirror on my 2017 model C238 doesn't open/close when i lock unlock the car any more, all other electrical features work such as mirror dipping when reversing and lane assist, if i press the button on my door to open/close the mirrors it does nothing to the right mirror,

so what's the problem ? anyone have any ideas ?

cheers
niall

i guess, but can it really be the case on a 3 year old car, are they made of such useless quality today ?

any guides for opening it up to take a look ?

Sometimes the wires are so tight and of such a small diameter that they snap easily.
I’d also surmise that they will fracture more easily in the cold temperatures that you “enjoy” in Swedenshire...

Quite a few threads on MB ‘crazy mirrors’ in North America and Canada - conclusion is that MB folding mirrors aren’t built for really cold conditions and dealer response is don’t use the fold facility in really cold temperatures...

so I went to the shop and it was working again... odd. I've now disabled the feature until the cold spell is done (another few weeks here at least)

Yes this can happen. I had the same on my Eclass and the wire will occasionally touch and work, then not another day. the wires in there are very thin and break all the time. I replaced the wires in the area that moves with computer ribbon wire and so far, so good. These wires also run the mirror tilt/move.
