The only thing that you can do is to try a re set by disconnecting the battery for 5 mins, the fault sounds like water in a SAM unit

Same as mine but in a W202. Gave up. Just don't arm it, lock it with the mechanical key but careful as the filler flap will be unlocked.

Will any filler cap lock works with a Merc?

Hi,
What year is your W202? if it is the later face lift version with the 3 button electronic key. Replace your siren as this gets contaminated by water and also has a battery in it which over the years go U/S.
Had similar fault on my C43 AMG 1999, false alarms and no noise from the siren, replaced the siren fault cured. Cost approx. £50 from MB for the siren and about half an hour to replace. It is located on the passenger side under the wheel arch liner attached to the chassis via a security Torx bolt.

Hi,
I bought mine about 4-5 weeks ago and was told that they were on back order then, the parts guy in Pentagon Southampton said I was lucky not only did they have one but two and were probably the only ones in the country as stock.

Will it fix my 97 W202?

My siren is located in the engine compartment atop the wheel arch on the driver side. Is there a battery inside and is it a Merc or Scorpion part?

As it giving me a false alarm, I might as well leave it as it is, so it doesn't make any noise until I fix the false alarm.

The false alarm may have happened after a leak in the screen wash reservoir drain plug. It might had wet the ECU located underneath it. The Scorpion module is located above the steering rod on the driver side. What should I do to fix this false alarm?

Lucky, I know, I had heard that they were getting hard to get, so i could,nt believe my luck when they said they had one in stock.
Just for info on the siren side of things Dragon if your car is pre-facelift this siren is different to the one described in the post above and will be a Scorpion unit. A Scorpion Alarm Siren can be identified by the fact it has a key switch to isolate the siren on the back of it it has a rubber plug over it protecting it, if you have the 3 button (2 button if an estate) electronic key then the one described above is the right one.
If you want a new Scorpion siren try Merc-man as he has had brand new ex stock items for approx. £40.

No, mine is a single button key fob. There is a spare credit card size emergency key and a black and a red push keys for disabling the alarm if it malfunctions. I was reading the Merc manual again tonight. No mention of the Scorpion module except in a separate booklet.

I got a feeling I can disconnect the Scorpion module and it may still work. I have to try it trial and error.

Lucky because we got one at all its on back order and been on back order for at least 6 wks, also lucky to get a new Scorpion alarm siren as they not available from MB any more.
The Scorpion siren on your car "IF" its the same type as mine, can be taken apart if you are careful but be warned it is sealed against weather and sealer on the casing is very strong casing easily broken.
I tried to locate a rechargeable battery suitable but could,nt find one, and as i did,nt have a key for the siren i decided to buy the siren from Merc man.
