Hello everyone I am a new member and have recently purchased my first Merc a C240 Elegance on a 2000 plate which has covered 46,450 mls, over the moon with the car.
Can anyone tell me if my engine has a timing chain or belt and what would be the recommended mileage for replacement if its a belt.

All MB's have a chain, and you will have no worries about it until the car has been 150k +

So sleep well:D and welcome to the forum

Thanks for that I was a bit worried about buying a merc with not knowing what the repair bills and running costs would be, but after reading what other owners have said I am now more confident.
