I have a 98/R C240 sport, lovely car, but problem is as im driving after 15 mins of it being started it cuts out when slowing down about to come to a hault. To start it up again i have to wait around 10 mins normally when the car cools down.
But recently it cut out at lights and would not start up again, until i waited 20 mins, and again cut out at lights.
please help!!!

Have a look at the fuelpump relay (in boot under carpet, under plastic panel at front of boot floor, 2 screw on rivet things holding it down. Green relay with a green 30a fuse on top, they are prone to poor connections, pull it out check fuse is clean and tight, best also to remove socket pins (4 of) and give them a gentle squeeze to tighten up the connection. Do this carefully one pin at a time, watch for shorts as pin 30 is on permanant + and is not fused!!!!

problem resolved, it was the crankshaft sensor, had the car taken into a merceds private garage. After putting it on the computer (****** money making scheme) it showed no fault. but oviously there is a fault. good mechanic pointed out he has seen this before and it probaly is the crankshaft sensor, so ahead he goes replaces that and all seems good so far.

Kam,
You're lucky, if you'd taken it to the dealer and the comp showed no error, they would hand you the keys back and tell you it's fine!!
I lost count of the number of times my misfire was diagnosed in this fashion. For some reason the techs seem to rely so heavily on the diag computer, some have lost the ability to think for themselves!
Score another for the indies - It was a non franchise garage that sorted mine too.

Crank shaft sensor itself was £65 and another £65 to fit it in
