Hi there,

I just recently purchased a 2003 c240. Love the car, handles great... it is truly in like new condition with only 60,000 miles on it. I have noticed that when I go over a pot hole or over a rise like pulling in or out of a driveway that I hear a creaking noise coming from the right rear. I also noticed that new rear springs were put on recently and the dealer said that was normal maintenance. The creaking seems to happen more when I am turning into a drive way going over a bump (or when the car lifts). The shocks seem fine as I don't hear anything when I push down on the back of the car etc. The dealer says that he is going to have his mechanic look at it and thinks it is a bushing of some sort... any ideas on what this could be???

Thanks,
Andy

Hi Andy,,could be the bushes on the rear antiroll bar, a few silicon sprays could fix that.

Welcome to the forum, your car sounds very nice

Thanks Malcolm..

This car doesn't have a scratch or ding on it.... it literally looks brand new... I'm so happy with it. I'll never drive anything but a Benz again...
Do you think that I should just have the bushings replaced as the silicon will eventually wear off?

Thanks again for the info.... this site is a great!

Silicon stays and never dries,, even with new bushes, using a silicon lubricant would let the roll bar move easier in the bushes.
