C250 diesel ticking/rattle from engine

1995 C250 diesel
I have noticed a slight rattle / ticking from rear of engine whilst driving , this seems to mirror the revs of the engine ,It also would appear to get quieter as the engine warms up , although not completely disappear:-? , Has any-one got any idea of what this could be ? ( mileage 120k ):-?
