The slot in which auto gear box control lever moves has a dog leg to the right in position 4. When the lever is "clicked" over to the right (still in position four) quite often the engine revs will rise slightly but the road speed will remain the same. Other times there seems to little if any noticable difference in anything. Can anyone enlighten me as to the purpose of this "double position", please, and explain what is going on?
Being a parsimonious Yorkshireman this question of revs/speed intrigues me and as a reult I always run in "W" position.
Sadly I have no owners handbook and getting one is a bit of a farce. I ordered one and got part three of 6?, and my Haynes is a waste of time it tells me very little. Consequently I am not "up to speed" on everything. Hopefully I will be in a couple more years or so.
