C250TD noise from interior light

Recently I have noticed a regular ticking noise (like a relay) coming from the interior light when the ignition is switched on. It disappears as soon as the engine is started.
Any clues?

There are no relays at mirror location .Remove mirror and listen for noise.This is the best way to locate where it is comeing from. good luck ,.

noise from internal front light

The MB dealer in Truro Cornwall has helped with this one. There is a small suction pump at this location which draws air from the cabin over a temperature sensor for the air con control. Have yet to investigate further but it sounds like a small motor with knackered bearings.

Found cause one dead ladybird trapped in fan blades which draw air from cabin to temp sensor.
