Hi,

Can somebody offer some advice.
I am getting a fast ticking noise and fault message saying that there’s a problem with the L mirror indicator lamp.
OK the indicator does not flash - however the lamps all light up when I flash my hazard lights or lock the car.
There’s a crack in the plastic lens, so I guess damp must have got in. But how do the hazards still work?

Confused?

Hello and welcome to the forum,,could be a SAM fault,,best to find an indie with STAR that should pin point the fault, damp getting in could confuse the CAN bus

Television, thanks for your prompt reply.
Forgive my ignorance, but what are the SAM and the CAN bus.

CAN only goes as far as the door control module, i suspect the wiring that bends around the mirrow frame has got a break, hazzards still work cause there wired differnet is case you get a fault or break down!!

Television.

Ive seen from previous posts you know the quickest way to remove the wing mirror.
Any chance you could send me some instructions. If the weather holds out, Im going to tackle it on the weekend.

Thanks
Kev

Go to edit and remove address.

Cover removal sent,, to remove the glass, press glass in at bottom,,un hook the long wire spring over the the top, and lift the mirror glass out.

Television,

If your reading this, Thanks very much. I managed to get the cover off on Sunday.

Couldnt see any obvious broken wires but ran out of time and light.

Now I know how to get the cover off, I will go a bit deeper next weekend and do some connectivity tests on the wires.
