The car has climate control. The problem is that no air at all reaches the foot wells, not bad in the summer but a pain this time of year. Local Merc man tested the vacuum pipes & could find no problems. He suggested a new control box @ £400 approx & as the dash needs to come out to replace the control box he suggested £200 - £300 to fit.

Could it be something simpler (big wish). Is there a cheaper option open to me (I've already got thermal socks)? Does anybody know a good Merc man/specialist in Essex, pref close to Romford?

Once again any help would be appreciated.

Dave.

This car does have 1 known fault that is there is a lug on the plastic flap that breaks off so the actuator cant open the flap, its not too bad a job taking the top half of dash out, How any one can speculate what is wrong before the top comes off to see what is broken amazes me

It might sound too obvious but have you closed off the airflow to the dash outlets thus alllowing the max. volume of heated air to the footwell?

Thanks for the replies. There is definitely no air flow to the footwells.

Television - Does a haynes Manual provide instruction on how to remove the dash etc? Is there any other way to tell whether the lug has failed?

Dave.
