C280 Sport Alarm problem

Found this site last night after my alarm system failed. Very helpfull indeed. Anyway all the posts about flashing lights didn't mention my problem. Only my Green light flashed for 10-20 seconds and would not beep or disable the alarm. The doors unlocked & locked but every time I got in the car the alarm sounded. Tried the reset steps which didn't work. To cut a long story short, I disconnected the battery for several minutes, reconnected & now the alarm appears to be fine.

Might help somebody who's panicking the way I did.

There were 3 completely different locking systems on these cars, upto 1995, 1995>1997 & 1997 onwards.

Each of these systems have their own set of "common" problems - if you get any more trouble, also post the age of your car.

C280 1995 Alarm Prob

The problem has repeated itself on a number of occasions now. C280 1995 N. Same as before - see first post. It seems that if the alarm/car is not set/locked within the 30 second time out, the immoboliser cuts in as its supposed to but will not reset without disconnecting the battery.

Any ideas?

It all started when I left the keys in the ignition for most of a day
