C280 (w202?) AC problems

The AC is stuck in the EC postion, and the compressor does not engage. Everything else works w/ the "push button controller" unit (i.e. blower spead, temperature adjustment,...)
i heard that the controller has a diagnostic mode. does anybody know how to start it and decode the codes? any other hints?

Hi

Most likly fault is no gas. Take it to dealer to have codes printed depending on the dealer there should only be a nominal charge if any.

Hi

Yes there is a self diagnostic in the N22 control unit (I think that what they call it) IF your vehicle is fitted with climate control. It would take to long to type out the special commands. But as Piestore has said. Its more likely to be out of refrigerant. You may have to clear the codes after you have recharged the system.
