I have a 2003 C320 and the seat belt buzzer is driving me nuts! The dealer says I can't disconnect it because it will create other problems and that it is buried under the dash, so it would be very difficult to cover it up.

Any suggestions?

Markku is quite right but if you wish to kill yourself then you will find the connectors near the seat belt anchors under the seat.....

seat belt buzzer

Hi

Sorry to upset you spike but if you dissconect the seat belt buckle switch the srs light will come on and diable the air bag as well, then you really are in trouble NO SEAT BELT AND NO AIR BAG.

On a more constuctive note the audible warning can be switched off via "control unit adaptation" in the insrument cluster. The trouble is in the current times of rife littigation the dealer that switched it of would be liable in the event of an accident even if you had signed a dissclaimer, apparently disclaimer's even when signed and counter signed are useless

CONCLUSION

best to put on the seat belt

I wasn't suggesting disconnecting the seat belt anchors, more like permanently closing the circuit.

Easy test, just put the seat belt in the anchor, with ignition off, disconnect the cables and measure the resistance (hopefully infinite) if it's infinate, just close the circuit, if a particular resistance (likely), make up a little circuit with the correct resistor in there to match the measured resistance and Bob's yer uncle, the seat belts, SRS, air etc just think the seatbelts are in use.

thanks all, I'll try your ideas. FYI, I always wear my seatbelt. I just prefer to start the engine, then put on my seat belt rather than vice versa. I've always felt that the longer the oil has a chance to circulate the better.
