Hey guys,

This is my first service with my used car. Service A was already done when i got the car.

I called up Canary Wharf and they quoted me a hefty £500!! SHOCKED!!

Do they really charge this high? Or can anyone suggest how i could get it done for cheap.

I've got some info at the below link:

Maybe some can suggest me on how i could save money on this one?

I'm not as rich as the owner of a C320 should really be.

Thnx

I just had the equivalent 'B Service' done on my C36 at a local independant and I paid just shy of 350 quid..and that was WITH a gearbox oil change.

I'm assuming Canary Wharf are a franchise...find yourself a good independant place, I know from this forum there are a few in London so it should be reletively easy :)

...but if i get it done from the independant firm, doesn't it invalidate the warranty :?:
...and is it recommended :?:

Unfortunately it does, I didn't realise you still had warranty on it :(

Well...I know some dealers are marginally cheaper than others, but not by much. The independant route is definitely something to consider when your warranty is up of course.

And yes i'd recomend it since generally their labour costs are about half that of a franchise.

Outside UK

I'll be driving outside UK for 2 weeks. A few guys suggested that Mercedes in France will charge labour at 80 EUR than £80 in UK.

That makes it 1/3 cheaper. Anyone can suggest a dealer in Paris? I'll be there for quite some time.

Thnx

Warranty

BTW; what is the default warranty period for these cars? Mine is a used car, approved by Mercedes and never thought about the warranty period.

The guys didn't mention anything about warranty when I purchased this one.

Thnx

The cost of the service really depend on what else needs doing. My C320 has just been in for an A service and because it is coming up to 4 years old it was due for some extra things as some service items are time related. They changed the spark plugs, air and fuel filter, brake fluid and coolant, as well as carrying out the A service. The bill came to a whopping £870!

If you want to keep your Mobilolife warranty which may well end up rather useful due to the corrosion problems modern mercs seem to have, you are going to have to go for a main dealer service.
