C280i Heater/Wiper Problem

About two months ago I went out in the car and after a few minutes noticed that the heater was blowing hot through the side vents even though the control was set at its coldest. When the car was stopped and restarted the problem went away. Yesterday the fault presented itself again with a new twist - the wiper would wipe intermittently. Today whilst in the garage I switched on the ignition and noticed that the heater direction switch light was flashing on and off quickly and the heater problem manifested itself again as did the wiper switching itself on intermittently. When the car was stopped the probs went away except the wiper issue. Has anyone any ideas of what need changing?

The first thing that I would do is to get some non drying switch cleaner from Maplins and clean all of the fuses, just pull them out, spray and push back in

Thanks for the advice. When I looked at the fuses I noticed several were not seated properly so I cleaned and pushed them all down. I 'll let you know if this worked.
