C350cdi owner

Hi. Apologies for not doing this introduction earlier. I live in South Yorkshire.
I'm on my second MB car, the first being a C270cdi estate and my current car a C350cdi estate ,which I've owned for 4.5 years. It's done 94k and I've had no serious issues.
After reading the relevant threads, all I've done myself is renewed the bat wing orrange O seal, the black and green O seals on either end of the turbo resonator pipe, these we're leaking oil slightly.

Hi guys. When I sold my 2001 C270cdi in summer 2011, it was starting to rust on bottom of doors ,and bottom lip of rear wheel arches. I had this touched up and sold car soon after. I'd had the car four years, but the rusting put me off buying another Mercedes, so I got a VW Passat 2.0 tdi 170bhp estate, which was a good car for the 5 years i owned it.
Then in July 2016 i purchased the C350cdi estate, which is great for towing my caravan.

2001was about the worst year for rust on MB cars. They tried water based paint which didn't work.

Yes I read a lot about the paint issues... you would expect better paint and body work, not rusting on a premium brand like Mercedes benz, at 10 years old.
That's why I changed to a VW Passat, which when I sold it was just over 9 years old, with no paint/rust issues.

I had a 2001 CLK did 120K miles in it, sold it about 7 years old no rust at all.

Glad to hear yours faired better than mine!
I looked after mine the best I could, regular washing/waxing. I removed the door cards to spray with wax oil. The car was always garaged when not in use.
A friend of mine had a W210 E320 ,2000 year, which rusted worse than my C270cdi!
