c36 dashboard problems - Lost odometer!

I have a problem with my dashboard.  Recently the LED clock lost the illumination, but this 'disease' has now spread to the odometer.

Can anyone advise me where this problem is generated?

Will the computer diagnostics system flag where the fault lies?  Or would I be better not to worry about it??

The systems still work, but it is difficult to see in anything other than direct sunlight!

had a similar problem with the bulb for the cluster clock.
replaced the small bulb from merc and problem sorted.

it was a real pain to get to though.
handbook says remove cluster-but special tool was needed,so i removed the panels under the steering and approached the cluster from below and behind -it required patience and a small 6mm socket spanner without the extension/

The bulb have gone. But before you replace get more bulbs than you initially require. As when you replace them at times the disturbance takes another one or two out.
