C36 oil change / oil filter

Hi, just going to change the oil on my C36 1997

The oil filter appears to be at the back right hand side of the engine, quite high up.

On my other cars I just spin off the filter with a chain style filter remover. I was a little concerned that the top may get crushed a bit by the chain.

Any thoughts suggestions?

its the 3.6 straight six (AMG version of the C280)

If there is room put a cloth on top and try the chain wrench, though the strap type is kinder

i bought the socket from the stealer, you can also get them in halfords or fleabay

I did my oil & filter recently on my E280; Laser tools make exactly what is needed;

Just fit it on the end of an extension bar and slot it over the filter cap.
