c36 or c43 amg

Hi there am looking to buy a amg wondering which is the best buy of the two have read some bad things on the c36 head gasket ,wiring loom breaking down etc , any opinions ???

Hi,
There are pro's and cons for both, but personally it has to be the V8 of the 43, its also newer and in general higher specification.
But in defence of the C36 I have never heard of wiring loom issues with this engine in the w202, though the head gasket I believe does,nt as a rule "blow" but can weep oil, fellow members I feel sure will correct me if i,m wrong regarding this.

Well to be honest I think that really comes down to how well its been looked after. If you get one with good service history and where the g'box oil & filters etc have been changed & properly flushed around/every 60k miles then it should be ok. Mine has now been done twice - last time just last week as the car is coming up on 100k miles and I just wanted to be sure Certainly not had any issues with my g'box - no nasty noises and changes nice & smooth so I'm happy.

Have to agree with Andy about which one to have though - for me the V8 is the clincher for sure. The C36 is a lovely car but I still prefer my C43. As and when I change mine I'll be going for a C55 as the C32 doesn't really interest me - not got the V8
