Hi Everyone,
I'm beginning to experience an aggressive Thud from what sounds like either the gearbox, prop or diffs when slowing down and downshift gears are selecting. Doesn't happen all the time but more prominent when just starting out cold or when car has been left for a period of time. No warning lights etc.

Anyone have any ideas on what this might be?

Thanks in advance of your support.

Hi, you don’t say what transmission you have. I experienced this same problem with my E350e which has the 9g transmission. I was advised by an indy (George Fraser) that they recommend transmission oil and filter change at 40 k miles.
Oil filter changed, and normal (silky) service resumed.

All oil levels have been renewed with new filters and gearbox sump assembly. Still experiencing thud on downshift from 3 - 2.

Any thoughts?

Not having any problems (yet!) with my 43 but only on about 29k miles so far. Have you asked Mercedes whether there are any transmission software updates which might help?

I wouldn't say mine is aggressive or a massive thud, but I do feel on occasion that the 3rd to 2nd change is not the smoothest, not all the time depends on mode and revs etc but maybe a trait of the car a little depending on how bad it is
