Hi,
Well after routing round Nics spare parts today, I came up empty handed regarding front brake discs for my C43 so it looks like I,m gonna have to dig deep and buy genuine parts but i have been wondering about front brake pads, I know there seems to be a strong following for EBC Green/Yellow/Red Stuff pads on the forum, but I think I need to be persuaded can anybody point out to me the advantages these pads have over the OEM items?

do not forget that the Zimmerman OE disc only cost £100 from euro.

Re the pads, I have always used EBC as I hate dirty wheels, if you love dirty wheels, do not fit them

Regarding Zimmerman discs, or any other disc manufacturer, C43 and E55 AMG front discs not available from any other source other than MB, though Euros can get the discs, they are actually genuine MB items.
I have searched and though some manufacturers list the 43 there quoted disc measurements are wrong (compared with the ones fitted from my car)
Reagarding the pads, what is the difference between yellow, green and red pads?

They are for different uses, ranging from normal road use, fast road use & track use only. Track use will operate at higher temperatures without brake fade, but will be poor when cold.

The green are the normal pads, the red are ceramic more bite, but wear the disc faster, the Black are only for competition use , never seen yellow

Must be the same for the CLK430 as every other manufacturer even Mintex lists the front disks as 300mm, whereas they are 330mm and only MB / Eurocarparts list this size.

Hi,
I thought the CLK430 brakes would have been the same but looking at the EPC the front discs on the C43 are the same as the 210 E55, I did think the CLK55 would of been the same but they are bigger still. I have found discrepencies with application lists, not one supplier of brake discs that listed the C43 could tell me the correct disc measurements, it was also interesting to note though they listed the C43 on there application lists they never listed the E55.
I have now bought genuine MB discs, for £149 each, and that was with 25-30% off reatail price!
