C43 Flickering indicator lamps

Need help!!!!!!!!!!

I own a 1999 C43 AMG, the car is in prestine condition and does the job perfectley for me. About 1 month ago I noticed that for some unknown reason the hazard lights would start flashing at double speed for a few minutes. This is at any random time once I have armed/locked the car via the electronic key. On locking the indicators flash 3 times and once when the car is opened. Is this correct? or should they flash only twice when locking. Does 3 flashes mean the alarm is sending a code to let me know something isnt right?

Well I was advised to change the battery in the key, I did this and there was no change, so I stuck!! can any one shed any light on this matter. Thanks![/b]

have had this problem a couple of times its either water contamination or terminals corroded at the alarm siren (under front bumper n/s)you will need to change siren & poss,wiring connector also the new siren will need coding at the dealers once replaced good luck

Thanks for the info but I am not quiet sure that the car is fitted with a siren! Their are no chirps when the car is activated and de-activated. The indicator lights will flash to to confirm. I wonder if it might be the inside motion sensor playing up aswell? I will try and look for the siren.

no siren to be found

Ok I had a look for the siren and I cant seem to locate it, the flickkering problem getting worse and now really spoiling my enjoyment of the car, I wonder if i should book it in for a diagnostics check on the Merc computer system?
