C55 AMG Interior Trim

Hi All,

I have recently purchased an 05 C55 AMG and I am generally very pleased with the performance and handling of the car. What seems to let it down is the interior trim quality on the dashboard and centre console. The centre console/dashboard creaks when I brake for roundabouts, and the 'alu look' trim looks very cheap and tapping it makes a horrible plastic sound. Anybody got any tips on what I should try to do to remedy this? I have the merc warranty so I could take it back to the dealership, but I really don't know what they can do. Is there any replacement trim parts for this car to improve the quality? (maybe real alu or carbon). Any adjustments to trim required?

Its a shame, because I really like the drive of this car, but the trim quality is no better than my old Clio V6.....

I had the alli trim in my 230 SL I bought a set of trim penels in walnut and sprayed them black,, its a plastic coating the is very hard. I did the steering wheel as well

The finish is unbelievable in Malcolm's car. I was surprised when someone told me he'd done it himself!
