Yes I can afford to run it I’m planning on having it as a daily.

I understand what you are all saying about money pit and I think I’ll stay away from it simply because for the chain alone I’m being quoted 4K, which is way too much. I was only interested in this because it was up for cheap. I can afford to buy a straight one any day just wanted a bit of a cheap project.

Cheap for a reason OP. That said even if you got a "straight one" somethng could fail on that a few months down the line.

Yeah I get your point. A car is a car so will fail eventually. Bit of a negative way to think of it though.

That’s the reason I asked about the maintenance fund, personally I put £200 away a month and that more than covers anything maintenance related including consumables like tyres.

I get that too but I don’t put things like that aside, I just spend on what it would need and whenever.

Think you're making the right decision there. From what you have described it doesn't seem that the car has anything going for it, not even the price.
