My first post on the forum and to say that I really enjoy learning about keeping my 2006 CLK in tip top condition.
I want to lubricate the mechanical parts of my CLK soft top, as I am pretty certain that none of the previous owners have attended to that. What do other members use? I watched a Youtube video and the guy presenting it used WD40. Is that the best lubricant to use?
Also, I usually use a Silicone spay on the rubber seals of the roof and doors, and that seems to keep them nice and plump. Do other members have any recommendations? Gummi pflege seems to be a go to brand, but reviews on Amazon seem a bit mixed. Hoping others can give me some advice for these 2 matters.

I used Gummi pflege on the rubber seal at the top of the windscreen on both my CLK and indeed Saab convertibles.

Over a combined 7 years, I did them twice on each, but that's it.

The roof, well that's a different bi-annual issue.....
